Session 28

2026-09-14 · 2026-W38 ✓ reviewed

What happened

Ran the missed 11:00 set-text block at 15:22. Closed both pending items from session 18: the Ozymandias closing sentence (unaided, Shelley as subject: 'Shelley wants the reader to feel that Power always will crumble') and the 1818 context as a clause in her own sentence (King George named inside the sentence, first attempt). Starter: both Ozymandias quotations 2/2 clean, 'Look on' fix holding — run one of two. Opened London (P1.02): audio + read aloud, open summary question gave 'the broken streets of the city', narrowed in one step to people; named all four figures from the book (with 'youthful Harlot' quoted), 'they are all young' unaided, Church and Palace found in stanza 3, one-sentence summary rebuilt correctly (people, Blake blames king and priests). Four spellings wrong in typed answers (palice, priced, happend, londen); retype asked for before the break and not done. Session ended after the break at the stanza-2 repetition question (K3.2), set but not answered: no paragraph written, no exit ticket, no two-line close. Logged by the parent on 16 Sep.

Planned next

FINISH LONDON FIRST: the stanza-2 repeated word ('every') and its effect (K3.2, unaided), then one first-draft what–how–why paragraph on it — quotation written alone on its own line first, then the sentence built round it (synthesis test #1, still unrun). Starter: both Ozymandias quotations scored (run two of two; clean = secure recall) plus London from memory: the four figures and the two buildings. Spellings London / Palace / priests checked in her own sentences (K6.1). Still blocked on all four set texts — no copies.

Unfinished unfinished · closed

London (P1.02): structural point on the repeated word in stanza 2 set but not answered; no what–how–why paragraph written; no exit ticket; spelling retype (London/priests/happened) not done.

What this session changed

TopicNameChangeEvidence recorded
P1.01Developing → DevelopingStarter 2/2 unaided: 'look on my works, ye mighty and despair' and 'nothing beside remains' (wording exact; capitals/punctuation not tested). Closing sentence and 1818/King George context clause both written unaided, first attempt. Run one of two clean quotation runs.
K5Developing → DevelopingClosing sentence unaided with the writer as subject: 'Shelley wants the reader to feel that Power always will crumble' (1/1). Second version slid to 'Shelley thinks' — writer still the subject, effect on the reader dropped.
K6.1Gap → Gap4 misspellings in 5 typed answers: 'palice', 'priced' (priests), 'happend', 'londen'. Correct spellings given; retype before the break requested and not carried out.
P1.02Not started → Not startedFirst session on London: listened to the recording and read aloud once (self-reported), one-sentence summary reached after one narrowing (people not streets), 4/4 figures named from the book, 'they are all young' unaided, Church and Palace found in stanza 3, summary rebuilt correctly. No paragraph, no exit ticket — below the developing bar.
