Session 125

2026-10-21 · 2026-W43 ✓ reviewed

What happened

Paper #10 (Wednesday timed sitting, W43), English Language section: 7/13 in 11 min against a 14 min guide, 0 blank, answered first. Q1 2/3: 01.1 chose 'dusty ribbon' for today's sky (missed 'today'). Q2 2/4: all three strands addressed unprompted; 'what' strand restated the shift instead of the event, 'where' line 8 right, 'why' gave a reader expectation but no link to the calm opening. Q3 3/6: three quotations all from the right lines with a valid suggestion each, none with a reader effect though the question asks for one on each. All 6 lost marks are technique, not knowledge: she had the ideas and did not finish the answer shape.

Planned next

Reader-effect clause: on every language quotation, 'suggests … / makes the reader …' as one line. Rerun Q3-style (3 quotes, 2 marks each) with the effect half as the named check. 'What is happening' = the event, not the shift.
